Teach your kids now!

Financial literacy, investing for kids and college advising — the material I wish someone had handed me at fourteen.

College Planning & ACT Strategy Recommendations

You love your kid. It will be used against you. Colleges overcharge to cover their 250% increase in administrators per student since 1980 and wasteful programs. They spend huge sums on marketing. Your student loan is not their problem. It’s yours.

High school counselors are worse than useless. Their background is in psychology, not planning a cost effective college education.

ACT 28+: Maximize scholarships and target strong programs at competitive schools. I will refer you to the best advisor I know.

ACT 20 or less consider learning a trade. 55% of all 4-year degree programs lead to starting compensation lower than working at an Amazon distribution center.

ACT 21-27: Avoid college debt. 4 years on campus = $50,000 minimum. Out of state at least $50,000 more. Invest the money in stocks instead and at age 65 leave your kid ($2 million / $4 million). This is especially important if ACT toward lower end of the band. I offer college coaching (career exploration, major/course selection, internship search etc.) that pays for itself and selective tutoring.

Curriculum Materials for Grades 6–12

For kids in grades 6-12 time permitting I enjoy teaching small groups the skills they need early in life and you can review my materials here:
